Joining our Governance
Amnesty UK is a leading member of the world’s largest human rights movement, campaigning tirelessly for the respect and protection of human rights for all people. It is a crucial time for human rights both here and around the world.
We need capable and committed people, with a wide range of professional, governance and lived experiences, to provide the insight and oversight that ensures Amnesty UK’s campaigns, education, advocacy and activism create real impact and our organisation is financially and operationally sustainable now and into the future.

We believe that movements and organisations are strongest when they bring together diverse voices and viewpoints – taking into account lived experience, skillsets and other professional skills and experience.
We have a number of Board and subcommittee roles that we will be appointing in 2023. Our subcommittee appointments are generally for two to three years, with the opportunity to stay on for up to six years, meaning we regularly have new opportunities to join our governance and make an impact.
By joining our governance, you will have the opportunity to shape Amnesty International UK’s strategies and policies, to support best practices in how we operate as a Not for Profit and employer, and to make sure that we continually evaluate, learn and innovate.
You will be working alongside intelligent, experienced and capable counterparts, who truly believe in living the values and mission of our organisation. With ample opportunity to learn, grow and develop, those who join our Boards and Subcommittees will have opportunity to develop and hone their governance skills, potentially moving into other Governance roles in future.
